E.l.f Primer - Review

I'm finally doing a review of this before throwing it out.
I picked this up in a hurry and that is always a bad idea. Plus, they didn't have a tester in store either.
I was fresh out of my hydrating primer from Kicks at the time and had to get a new one fast. I looked all over the shopping center but didn't find one that peaked my interest. I was about to give up when I remembered that this tiny store carries E.l.f makeup. Lets give that a try.

Since my skin is so dry I've been trying to find hydrating primers that doesn't cost a fortune. Which is easier said that done. I was eyeing the Smashbox primers for a quick minute but they are sooo expensive. Looking back, they might've been a safer pick than this.

It comes in a standard palstic bottle with a pump. Always a bonus. It's infused with vitamins A, C and E. So a lot of goodies in it. Sadly that's where the good ends and the bad starts. It smells horrific and feels like I'm putting faceoils on my skin. If you're in to that you might like this, if you can stand the smell. My foundations looks funny on top of it and it exaggerates my pores. So the claim of filling in fine lines feels a bit of wishful thinking. I didn't pay a lot for it but it still feels like money wasted. I would stay clear of this one if I were you.

Sephora Finds

I just happened to end up in a Sephora like two weeks back. We didn't even go there for my sake to begin with, happy girl none the less. I ended up coming out with these three goodies.
Whenever you see a Sephora bag you get a happy kick.

Two facemasks from Tom Moly, haven't tried those yet. And a new faceprimer from
Sephoras own brand.

New In: Wet n Wild Bare and Beautiful

I was perusing the Wet n Wild display the other day looking for new launches. I saw this and thought it to be colours I would use. I haven't opened it yet to test it out, I wanted to post this first.
I fell for the "browbone" colour. How gorgeous?
All in all it looks like colours I already own for maybe the exception of the base colour.

I wouldn't personally wear it this way as they have suggested on the back,
I will let you know how I get on with it.

Make Up Store Matte Foundation

Make Up Store is one of those brands that you rarely see, or hear anything about. You are always curious and when you see one of their stores, you have to go in. I've tried a few things from the brand, but never a foundation. I few years back I had a girl in my local store try one out on my face and I liked it. Sadly I never paid any attention to the name of it at the time.
My local store had some great deals going on, changing every week, last month. This particluar day they had a discount on foundations and I had to go in.
This is what I came out with.
I really like their new packaging. Makes them look more exclusive.

Got it's claims on the back for your convenience.
I got it in the shade Vanilla.

A plastic bottle with Make Up Store embossed on the bottle. Looks really nice and expensive.

Got a pump, bonus points!

I asked the girl in the store for a lightweight natural formula that would cover up the redness without clogging my pores.

It feels very lightweight and nourishing. But it is a major pain to blend into the skin! Doesn't matter what tool I use or primer underneath. Even tried to use it without a primer. Same result. It sits funny on the skin and feels sticky all day. It doesn't stay on very long either once you do get it blended.
It's a real shame since the color matches me really well.
I'm so sad about it and I don't know what to do with it. It will have to sit in my drawer and annoy me further until I decide.

Semptember Favorites 2016

I haven't done one of these in ages, so I thought I would share some of my new loves. Few, but good.

Kicks Thirsty Skin eye cream - I quite enjoy using this. I've never been any good at keeping skincare routines, but this little guy I use every day.
The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day cream - Exactly what it says on the tub.  Nothing more, nothing less. I think my skin likes this. Haven't noticed any increase in breakouts. Sinks right in but can be a bit on the heavier side if you use too much of it,
L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion foundation - I love using this on days where I just want a little coverage. Days where I can't be bothered to blend in a more full coverage foundation. A quick easy fix.
The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Gel - The girl in the store specifically recommended this to my irritated skin. In my mind it hasn't made a worldchanging difference, but it's nice to know I am doing something right.

Product Empties September 2016

The tin box where I keep products I've either used up or didn't get on with was overflowing a few weeks back. So here they are.

Victoria Secret bodymist in Scandalous - Smelled absolutely amazing and I'm so sad it's gone.
E.l.f makeup mist and set - Used it all up but never noticed that it did anything.
Créme Fraîche de Beauté from Nuxe -  Can't remember how many of these I've gone through now but both me and my face loves these!

Toni & Guy Cleanse - A dry shampoo I got in the Kicks adventcalendar that I never really got on with. I am very picky when it comes to my dry shampoos. Nothing beats my next product empty.
Schwazkopf Got2b dry shampoo - Smells amazing and works wonders. I spray it on to wet hair, leave it there for a few minutes and then give my hair a good shakethrough and brushing.

Rimmel Sunshimmer Bronzer - This number sadly broke during my summer trip, but hey, that was the one thing too.
IsaDora Velvet Tough compact powder - I've had this for quite a few years and didn't like it as much as I liked the anti redness one. This had to go due to age and germs.
Rimmel Exaggerate eyeshadowprimer - This will come as no surprise to you if you read my review of it. Felt like cake frosting and did nothing for me. After writing that post this got sent to the samebin.
Max Factor Facefinity All day primer - I really don't get why this was requested as a stand alone product. It is a hughe miss in my book. No foundation looked good on top of this. I tried to love it but no!
L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara - My holygrail go to mascara of all times!! I tried replacing this with the Miss Hippie one, but I still prefer the Miss Manga. Will replace this soon.
Maybelline New Baby Skin primer - I picked this up during the Holiday Sales after Christmas and I was surprised at how much I really liked this! Can't find them anywhere in store. Sad times.
