Review: Flawless by Sonya Aloe BB Créme

I will start of this post by saying that I am not selling for the brand. Flawless by Sonya is a part of the Forever  Living family and is a MLM  company. I'm not that fond of that type of companies either. Whenever I get into contact with one I am very hesitant.

Luckily enough, I was gifted this amongst many other things from the brand to try out. But we start with this one.
I really like the packaging.  A pearly white tube with a lid that looks like purple metal. And I like the fact that is has SPF20 and is based on aloe vera.
Hope you can read the back of it. I wouldn't recommend to reapplying it. You would end up with a cake face. On the website it says that it evens out the skintone, hydrates and works as both primer, concealer and base.
It's not completely mousse-like in texture but halfway there. First time I dipped my brush in it my mind went "what the **ll". It was very weird. It feels cooling on the skin and smells soft of soap. Nothing to strong and it fades pretty quickly once applied to the skin. It's dewy in texture and if you have oily skin this could easily look greasy on you. But if you are like me and have super dry skin this makes your face look healthy and glowy from within. There is nothing matte or satin about the finish of this.

It has medium to light coverage. You can't get it to full coverage without looking like a clown. You want to go very light handed and gentle with this. I learnt that pretty fast. Sadly this is very pink in undertone. According to the website it's supposed to fit fairer skintones. I have yellow undertones which means that when this settles and blends with my own oils and if I have been to generous with this it oxidizes one or two shades too dark for me. And now I am tanned. I will try this come winter and see what I think of it. I'm pretty sure it will look awful. You have to use a primer under this. The primer part to it doesn't work and I wouldn't recommend putting this under anything else but powder.

Since this contains Aloe Vera and being a BB cream I thought it would help my skin in  the long run. Sadly my skin doesn't like this for everyday two weeks in a row. I've tried more than once and it breaks me out quite badly. I think it's the sunscreen ingredients to it, but I'm not sure.
I am very grateful I was gifted this because it has a rather steep price tag. I would never spend that much money on a BB Cream. Not even a high end one. I like it but I will never buy it, and considering the cons of it, that is just as well.

Review: Maybelline Eye Brow Satin

I hauled this ages and ages ago and meant to do as review of it as soon as possible, preferably before everyone else since it was smoking hot new on the market. But I couldn't make up my mind about it at first and since then it's been used every day but still it's been sitting in the back of my mind to do a review on. Weird how that works. But here it is, the Maybelline Eye Brow Satin, not that new on the market anymore.
As you might be able to tell from the detail of the pictures, I got myself a new DSLR. Very very pleased indeed. It took about a week to rub the name off. Well done Maybelline.
It's a dual ended twist me up kinda pen. No more sharpening for me thank you very much!
One side is your bog standard "pen". Kinda dry and kinda hard in texture, but breaks if you're not careful.
The other side is a sponge tip with powder of some sort that comes out. I could be without this end and swap it for a spoolie instead. It's kinda gimmicky.
The idea behind it is you fill in the sparseness with the pen and blend it all together with the sponge tip. You can use the sponge end on its own if you want a softer feel. I have the shade dark blond, but I think it's a bit too green in undertone. I like it but I wish more from it.

When I run out of it I will try something else. But for now it works. Nothing to special about it.

Product Empties, Regrets and goners.

I was looking around my makeup looking for inspiration and found my empties box was overflowing. But this time it's not only empties, there's some regrets in there and two things that has gone bad. Crying on the inside.

I don't think many of these will come as a surprise to you. These are the regrets. I've done separate posts on all of these except the sponge.
L'Oreal Elnett. Can't stand the scent.
I Love.. Raspberry and Blackberry body scrub. Smells horrible and don't have enough scrub action.
Garnier ultimate blends dry shampoo. Just plain blah!
And the sponge is just from H&M I think. Don't like it at all.

And these are the empties.
Nivea 3in1 Micellar cleansing water. Nice enough to use, started to smell funny at the end. Didn't brake me out or anything but I am always a bit hesitant to use these type of things on my skin every day.
Natuvive Pomegranate body wash. They don't make these anymore so I was sad when I ran out of it. But better to use it up and enjoy it instead of it going bad and having to throw it away.
Schwarzkopf Got2b dry shampoo. Wouldn't be an empties post of mine without one of these in it. LOVE IT! I must have one of these on hand at all times.
Nivea pearl & beauty roll on. Boring but this is my go to deodorant.
Nuxe Creme fraiche de beaute masque. Loved this to bits and was very sad when I ran out of this. I got the regular version of this back in my feelunique haul. I don't think I ever will pay full price for this, no matter how good it is.
And the pure goners. The ones who turned bad on me. A body wash from Weleda. It's creamy in texture and doesn't lather at all. I don't get body washes that doesn't do that. Why??

And the eyeshadow primer from Makeup store that I got ages ago. haven't used up even half of it. A little goes a very long way with this. Thought it was due time to throw it ayaw when it started to change color and smell funny. Won't repurchase this.

Hope you guys enjoyed this short but rather wordy empties post.

Collective August Haul

August has been a very very uneconomical month for me. But after having worked hard all summer I thought I'd treat myself. Below you'll find the damage I did. Most of it is feeluniques fault, they had a massive sale going on when I was in a particular shopping mood.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche de beaute - I've had the masque verison of this and loved it. So when I found this gem on sale, I had to have it. My skin needs this when it flares up.
Bioderma - All the rave throughout the blogosphere. Jumped for joy when I found this and decided to try the smaller bottle first.
Real Thecniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - Been eyeing this for a while and clicked "add to basket" when I found it on sale.
Urban Decay Naked Basics glide on eye pencil in Crave/Venus - Can we just take a "aaaaah" moment here?! I have never tried anything from UD before but everyone raves about them. Found this on sale to and it just kinda happened to tag along.
Rimmel Clear complexion transparent powder - A repurchase for me. You might remember two years or so back I got my first one and smashed it just a few months after. I've almost used up all of it anyways but now it is so much loose powder that it gets everywhere and drives me nuts. Time to get a new one and not smashing it!
I'm gonna try to be better at changing up my jewelry. I tend to   wear the same pieces over and over again. These crystal pendants are gorgeous! I ordered the ring on a whim online hoping I got the right size. Turns out it's way to big for all of my fingers. Oh well. Wasn't that expensive even though it looks like it.
No name makeup brush from China - Orderd this hoping it would be a good dupe for Sigmas F180 kabuki brush. I think it's a good brush, but I wish it would be a bit denser in the bristles. Not as good for BB Creams as you might think but pretty ok for foundation.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer - Ordered this too from feelunique but it came in a separate package so I thought I had removed it from my basket again. I am still on the hunt for the perfect concealer. I don't get along with my Maybelline Fit me concealer. The tube leaks and smears and it moves everywhere.
I'm hoping this will be good.
