Happy New Year

I want to thank each and every one of you for the past year. My blog has literally exploded with visitors and readers. This is the best year statistically. I hope I can beat it during 2016 and continue to bring you readworthy content.
I am so thankful that you take time out of your day and life to visit my blog and read the content.

I wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope it brings you all that you want and good health. And some new beauty products along the way ;)

I've had a great 2015. Maybe, I've played it a bit safe, but I don't have any major regrets. I've learnt something new almost every day and grown a lot as a person and mentally. I have made lots of new memories to carry with me and to look back on with smiles and warmth. And that is what life is all about!

See you on the other side. If it's already 2016 where you live, drop me a line and tell me what it's like. I have currently  6.5 hours left of 2015. Better make the most of it.

Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation

Since the L'Oreal True Match foundation was such a fiasko, I ran out the door and picked up a new one. In the tester it felt more moisturized and blendable. And not as runny. Oh my gosh, this was such a waste of money as well. I've had really bad luck with foundations lately. Or I just got pickier after my Borjouis one. Either way, I ended up benching this and ordering a new Healthy Mix Serum foundation.
But here's my thoughts on the Dream Satin Liquid.

It comes in a nice glassbottle, which always feels more luxorious too me. Means I can drop it and the odds are pretty high that it will survive. It has a pump, also a bonus. The color was a really good match for me. I picked out 1 Natural Ivory. It has an SPF of 13. I don't know the claims it's supposed to have, and I don't really care either. It blended pretty okay into the skin, but it made every pore on my face look absolutely hughe! That's never happened to me before. I was startled to say the least when I looked in the mirror. This also klings to any dry patches you might have and it oxidises after a few hours. The staying power isn't that great either, not even with a primer underneath. I tried mixing it with my usual facecream so that it wouldn't kling to my skin, but to no avail. I am really disappointed in it. I loved the Dream Matte Mousse foundations when they first came out. I wanted this to be just as good.

Give this a wide birth and pick up something else. Or if you like it, keep using it. I will be passing this too along to someone in better need of it.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful time. I've spent the entire day with my love and just done things that we like. We've made it our own tradition to spend Christmas Eve just the two of us. No stress, no preassure, just us and a lot of love. Sometimes you need to say enough is enough and enjoy your own life.
Lots of love to you all.

Advent Calendar Day 23

Today I got the tiniset foundation sample from IsaDora. The shade I got was 12 Nude Sand. Hope I can use it.

Advent Calendar Day 22

Was a naillaquer from Kicks own brand. It's a red with hotpink tones to it and is called Ladylike. Will absolutely try this out!

Advent Calendar Day 21

Only a few more days to go!
Today I got a hand salve from from Burts Bees. Smells a bit odd. I'm starting to sense a theme here. The nailfile should've tipped me off. Not to excited about this one really.

Advent Calendar Day 20

Inside was this handcreme from Rituals. All their things has a unique scent to them. Felt a bit thicker than your average handcreme. Will be nice to try.

Advent Calendar Day 19

Soon christmas guys! This month has just flewn by. Today was a mascara that you might recognise. I bought this maybe a little over two years ago and didn't like it. Think I did a review of it back then. Will be passing this along to. Everything in here that I don't like or use will me passed on to family and friends.

Advent Calendar Day 18

The good stuff keep on coming. Can yoy ever have too many eyeshadow primers? I think not!

Thursday, 17 December 2015

Advent Calendar Day 17

A creme eyeshadow from Kicks own brand was hiding for me today. A pearly champagne number with loads of sparkle. Think it will do nicely as a base on the eyes. A bit too much sparkly bits to use as a highlighter on the face. Might actually try it, just for kicks.
The name of it is Rooftop Sunset.

Advent Calendar Day 16

Just a bit excited to try something from Blow Pro. It smells good. Will let you know how I get on with it.
This calendar is starting to look up.

Advent Calendar Day 15

Excitement alert! Stop whatever you are doing, run down to your nearest perfume shop and smell this!

I had no idea Thomas Sabo did fragrances. I love his jewelries, I was lucky enough to recieve a piece when I was younger.

This fragrance, Charm Rose, smells divine! It's warm, sexy, yet flirty and young. Love the glass rollerball packaging. If I go away for christmas or the new years, I will sure be packing this!

Advent Calendar Day 14

The packaging looks like it would contain something interesting. It makes me think of Too Faced's Sweet Heart blushes. But, alas, within the pink plastic hart you'll find two mirrors. One normal and one with double the magnifying. This I could do without.

Review: Idun Brunkulla

Today I thought we'd take a closer look at this little palette that's been living in my drawer for quite some time now. It's from the brand Idun and is called Brunkulla which roughly translates to Brown girl. Brun being brown and kulla being an old Swedish word for girl. A history lesson as well as a language lesson, that ain't half bad.

I like the packaging. Black compact casing with a beautiful mythical girl on the front. I imagine her to be a forest nymph. Right now I can't remember what Idun was the godess of, or if she even was a godess.
Inside you have a decent sized mirror and four brown shades. Nice packaging. Except for the part that mine broke in one of the hinges without warning. Part of the plastic bit just fell of.

Pretty bad picture of the shades actually. There is a champagne color, a subtle gold one that isn't chunky, a bronze one and a dark brown which I would've wished was matte and not as chunky. This is the only bad shade in here. The rest of the shades are buttery smooth and easy to blend. Witha primer underneath you get an amazing colorpayoff and an okay weartime. Shadows in general don't tend to stay on my lids for that long if I don't use a primer and a creme base.

You can find Idun Mineral cosmetics in just about every Swedish pharmacy now. If you see it, I highly recommend you give it a try. I am curious to try more things from the brand. I think this is somewhere around 200SEK. I was lucky enough to recieve mine as a gift from my mom.

Advent Calendar Day 13

Behind day 13 was a handcreme from Kicks own brand. Again, fairtrade and smells divine and luxorious with olive oil.

Saturday, 12 December 2015

Advent Calendar Day 12

Today I got a facemask! Oh yay, am I weird for beeing excited over this? Never tried a warm fudge mask before. Sounds more like something I would eat.

Advent Calendar Day 11

Behind day 11 we find eyelashes from Eylure. I've heard only good things about the brand and my fave youtuber just did a collab with them. I normally never wear fake eyelashes, who knows, that might change?

Thursday, 10 December 2015

Advent Calendar Day 10

Oh my gosh! Today I got either a base or topcoat from Essie! It doesn't say which on the bottle. Today was a good day.

Advent Calendar Day 6-9

Day 6 was a topcoat I've wanted to try ever since it hit the blogospehere. It's from Seche Vite.
Day 7 contained an eco certified showergel from Kicks own brand. They seem to have put a lot of their own things in here.
Day 8 was mildly disappointing. I know there are hairtie stealing faries out there, but come on!
Day 9 was the best day so far for me! It contained a nailfile. And not your regular one either, it's a sparkly dazzling pink one! Really?? REALLY?? A nailfile? Geez!

Tuesday, 8 December 2015

Advent Calendar Day1-5

Day 1: A Lumene Lipgloss in Wildflower

Day 2: A Toni & Guy dryshampoo

Day 3: An eco certified facewash from Kicks own brand.

Day 4: An eyeline, also from Kicks own brand

Day 5: A nailpolish in a chocolate/coffee color that I will never use. Ugliest color in history!

What I got for my birthday 2015

This post is loooong over due. Have a peek at what I got from my family for my birthday.

Honey and my boss gave me back my car as a gift. I had to overhaul the engine and something still wasn't right with it and I kinda lost interest and gave up on it. But they gave it back to me, fully working, and driveable! I have missed my baby girl so much! Anyone dare venture a guess as to what car this is? Yes, it is a Toyota. But the model? Where I live, where it's never been sold, there's only 36 of them left.
From my mother in law I got Kicks Christmas Advent Calendar! Wanted this so bad last year but when I decided to get it, it was out of stock! I am so happy to have gotten this!
I will do seperate posts on what's in it. The highpoint of my day is opening this.
From my parents and one of my sisters I got a toilet paperroll with Soduko on it. Funniest thing ever! A cute teastrainer, a shower gel with my fave scent pommegranate and a Sleek palette! I  have been debating for the past two years wheter to get the Au Naturel or the Storm one. I was beyond excitet when I opened the palette! Love, love it!

From my other sister I got this awesome candle holder! Love it!

That's it guys! I had an amazing birthday weekend and birthday! Ate lots of delicious food, cake and some more cake and just spent some really good quality time with my loved ones!

First Impression: L'Oreal True Match

I remember using this way back when I had no idea what color I was and just guessed from the packaging. I remember liking it and heard they recently repackaged it. No one ever said anything about reformulating it. But they did that as well. And, they messed it up for me. Keep on reading to find out why.
The new packaging is really nice. Looks sleek and expensive. Would look nice out on any vanity.
I hopped on findation.com real quick to find out what shade I was. Funny thing, the names and shades vary from Sweden to Uk to Us. So for me it's a constant guessing game.
The formula is very very runny. Even if you skahe it up it's still very runny. I thought that would mean it contained a lot of mosturizing properties.
But alas, it applies funny, sits funny on the skin and it is a pure nightmare to blend into the skin. Especially if you have a orimer underneath. It dries down to a  glowy dewy powderfinish that klings to and exaggerates any dry patches you might have. I'm guessing this is more suited for oilier skintypes and not so much us dryfaces. Might suit me better in the summer months cuz then the dryness isn't as bad.

I regret buying this and this is nothing like the old one. Why mess up something that does work? They could've just changed the bottle to look more elegant, brought out some new shades and just left the old formula be. I will either pass this along or throw it away. That's how bad it is!

30ml 169 SEK. I luckily got it on sale and only paid 129 SEK.

Review: Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer

I don't think I have ever tried a MaxFactor base before. I've tried a few of their mascars over the years. Like when the Master Piece mascaras came and they were all the hype. Spoiler alert, my eyes didn't like them. But I've never tried their foundations or anything else. If I have, they have totally skipped my mind.
However, I decided to give this one a go after having read up on it in different reviews and stuff. Did you know that the primer was specifically asked to be created as a stand alone product after having appeared in the All Day Flawless 3 in 1 foundation? Or at least, so I've heard.

It has the following claims online:
"All Day Primer is oil free and has SPF20. Does not clog the pores and is dermatologically tested so it will even suit the more sensitive skintypes. The All Day Primer formula stays flexible on the skin and combats flaking and fading of the foundation. With its powdercomplex it absorbs any excess oils and gives a smooth even finish. Suits all foundations without build in primers."

I've used it for about two weeks now and I can honestly say that I like it! It feels very lightweight, moisturizing somehow and the tiniest bit silicony. Not in a disturbing way. It smooths everything out and makes my faoundation glide on even better. However, I've noticed that I get very shiny in the middle of the day. I never do that and the only thing I've changed is the primer. So I don't really agree with that claim. It doesn't clog my pores and haven't broken me out yet. It does make my skin look smoother so that's a bonus! But for the longevity of my foundation, I would say the Rimmel one does a better job.
I like it but I wish it wouldn't make me look shiny halfway through the day.

Have you tried it?

Things for other uses

Hi guys, I know I've been M.I.A for a while now. I am still alive, life has just been very, very, busy.
I'm sure you haven't missed me too badly hihi.

Anyways, I thought I'd share a quick tip with you all. If you've been reading my blog for a while, thank you, you might remember I picked up this from Lancome in a sale ages ago.

I did a review on it and didn't care much for it as a makeup remover or facewash in general. But it is amazing as a brush cleaner! Why that is I don't know. It just gets in the bristles and removes all makeup from them. Like it's lifting it up and out of the hairs. Love it for that but not on my face.

Olivia Palermo for Ciaté

Just saw that Kicks have released the Olivia Palermo for Ciaté Collection. I think I am one of the very few in the world who couldn't care less for this collaboration. None of the products makes me want to buy them. They are over priced and boring. It's nothing new. I have nothing against the girl, I'm sure she is good at what she is doing, but I didn't get the hype around her from the start.
I think it's great that we do get the option to be able to buy the range, because we don't have most stuff that the lucky people of USA do. So I think this is quite big for Sweden. But me, I'm gonna pass on the range. Just wanted to let my Swedish readers know that the range is up for grabs.

Now, I'm gonna cuddle down in bed with a nice hot cup of vanilla and caramel tea and watch FormulaDrift. Hope the live stream works.

September Favorites 2015

Gonna try this one last time. If it doesn't work I am gonna throw this down the bin and not do this post at all. Blogger is trying to make me kill myself.

Schwarzkopf Got2B dry shampoo. Not gonna dwell here because you all know how much I love this.
L'Oreal Elvital Fibralogy shampoo and condtioner.
Defied myself to try a new shampoo and buy the matching conditioner for once. Decided to give this a go. Smells a lot, on the brink of obnoxious really. Wish I had smelled it before picking it up. I like the conditioner better than I like the shampoo. Makes my hair feel a bit thicker and helped with weather damage. My hair feels a lot smoother.
My brushes, oh my brushes. What would I do without these three?? They all need a good clean by now. Real Techniques Powder brush and Expert face  brush. And a gigantic noname fan brush that I love to use for contouring and highlighting.
You might've sen this in a haul. I like it a lot. But I only use it damp to go over my face after having applied my foundation with a brush. I tried using only this for foundation and almost had a fit. It took to long and was just too much of a faff really. Also like using it to put concealer underneath my eyes with the pointy end. I don't get how people use only the beauty blender, which is about the same size as this, too put foundation on. Takes forever!!
Borjouis Healthy mix serum foundation - Love, love, love this! Think I am running out of it, hard to tell even though it's a glass bottle.
Nuxe Créme fraiche de beauté - this is not the mask but the real face cream. Love this as much as the mask and my skin is one happy camper. Whenever I get red and irritated and breaking out, I swap out my regular one for this and it all comes down in a matter of days. I am thinking of giving all other face creams the boot and only use this, no matter how pricey it is. Cuz, this is so worth it.
Rimmel Lasting finish primer - still going strong and delivering. When will this run out?
L'Oreal Miss Manga Mega volume mascara. Won't dwell here either. Can't be without this. Had to revive it with a bit of Bioderma a couple of weeks ago. Will soon have to buy a new one.
Victoria Secret Scandalous body mist. Say no more, love it! Smells heavenly!
Jennifer Lopez Live perfume. This brings me back. This was the first high end perfume I treated myself to. It went with me to London when I went there the first time. My second year at a new school. All the struggle at school and life and still being newly in love with my boyfriend.
Was so happy when I found this again online. Thought it was discontinued.
And now I am turning into TalkBeckyTalk. Wouldn't be a bad thing at all, she seems very lovey and beautiful inside out. Putting this in because I have been ill with a cold for and entire month. Driving me absolutely nuts. And this peppermint tea has helped my soar throat and coughing a lot. Smells and tastes yummi. And, did you know that peppermint is anti inflammatory?

I am sorry this is going up so late. My computer and internet and this platform have all been working against me all week, This was meant to go up last Tuesday. but I am posting this as soon as I am done typing, before anything else goes wrong.

Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday and a lovely weekend. I am gonna watch the finals of FormulaDrift. Wish I was in Irwindale and could watch it live.

Have a lovely one!

Review: Flawless by Sonya Aloe BB Créme

I will start of this post by saying that I am not selling for the brand. Flawless by Sonya is a part of the Forever  Living family and is a MLM  company. I'm not that fond of that type of companies either. Whenever I get into contact with one I am very hesitant.

Luckily enough, I was gifted this amongst many other things from the brand to try out. But we start with this one.
I really like the packaging.  A pearly white tube with a lid that looks like purple metal. And I like the fact that is has SPF20 and is based on aloe vera.
Hope you can read the back of it. I wouldn't recommend to reapplying it. You would end up with a cake face. On the website it says that it evens out the skintone, hydrates and works as both primer, concealer and base.
It's not completely mousse-like in texture but halfway there. First time I dipped my brush in it my mind went "what the **ll". It was very weird. It feels cooling on the skin and smells soft of soap. Nothing to strong and it fades pretty quickly once applied to the skin. It's dewy in texture and if you have oily skin this could easily look greasy on you. But if you are like me and have super dry skin this makes your face look healthy and glowy from within. There is nothing matte or satin about the finish of this.

It has medium to light coverage. You can't get it to full coverage without looking like a clown. You want to go very light handed and gentle with this. I learnt that pretty fast. Sadly this is very pink in undertone. According to the website it's supposed to fit fairer skintones. I have yellow undertones which means that when this settles and blends with my own oils and if I have been to generous with this it oxidizes one or two shades too dark for me. And now I am tanned. I will try this come winter and see what I think of it. I'm pretty sure it will look awful. You have to use a primer under this. The primer part to it doesn't work and I wouldn't recommend putting this under anything else but powder.

Since this contains Aloe Vera and being a BB cream I thought it would help my skin in  the long run. Sadly my skin doesn't like this for everyday two weeks in a row. I've tried more than once and it breaks me out quite badly. I think it's the sunscreen ingredients to it, but I'm not sure.
I am very grateful I was gifted this because it has a rather steep price tag. I would never spend that much money on a BB Cream. Not even a high end one. I like it but I will never buy it, and considering the cons of it, that is just as well.

45g (why they chose to put it i grams instead of ml beats me) 382 SEK ( £29,82 $46,26 and 40.87 Euro )
