For the twill of it

A couple of nights ago I posted a pic of my nails. Back then they were newly done and now, not so much. But I have to say I am super impressed! What am I now, four or five days in with the same polish without touchups. No topcoat and just one coat of polish. Essie continues to impress me. I think I will spend that extra money (about dubble) and just buy Essie polishes. They are supreme to all my others, and I own alooooot of nailpolishes.

For the twill of it is a funny name and one of their cameleon polishes that launched last fall. It's a gunmetally foresty green that looks purple depending on how the lights hit it.

March Favorites

I havent done one of these in a really long time! I found some great new things this month and wanted to share them with you all. You might be able to tell that the theme here is skincare and well being.

 Nothing makeupey in sight. Odd?
Curlingwand from OBH Nordica. An awesome brand. It's got an separate on button and 5 heat settings. This actually gets my hair curly.
You've read about this already. I'm still loving it and I'l have to pick up another one today.
My new holy grail! It'll get a post of it's own.
New in and went straight for my heart! It smells amazing. Like I went straight through a shower of mango and papaya.
Hun brought this home and it totally works. Tastes yummy and gives me that extra boost in the morning to actually get on with my day.
Amazing! Doesn't smell so great but it soaks right in and works it's magic.
Another product that blew me away. It cleans like nothing else and puts some moisture back in. Will be giving this a post as well. It really deserves it.

Tried any of these? Tried anything new you've totally fallen for?

Better late than never

I did some shopping a while back and completly forgot to blog about it. I've used all of the products and tried them out. You've already seen a review of the foundation.
I am happy to say I can finally get my hands on Elf cosmetics in store. They only have a fraction of their things but it's better than nothing. So I picked up their dualended highlighter corrector thingy and a contour/blush compact. Love the packaging. If I'm not mistaken it's a dupe for NARS blush orgasm and their beloved contour powder.
I also picked up a micellular water from nivea which when I bought it was sparkling new in stores. It' Niveas equivalent of L'Oreals version of the Bioderma. Since everyone is raving about the two I decided to go with Nivea instead and try it out. I also picked up an olice facemask and a sponge.

Latest from the Infalliable Line

Not too long ago L'Oreal released a foundation that instantly caught my attention. We all know that hyaluron have been the hype and most sought after ingredient in the beauty realm for quite some time. If you have missed it hyaluron is known for being able to suck water from your surroundings keeping your face hydrated. And for being an enemy of fine lines. What's not to love then?

I really love the design of this bottle. If the top had been oval it would look like a bullet. Now it more looks like stiletto heel. I don't know if that was the intention but I love it! It's a glass bottle with a nice pump. For me one ump is enough for my entire face.
THis foundation comes in 7 different shades, 120 Vanilla, being the lightest. Even now when I know which undertone I have I still find that L'Oreals foundationcolors are a bit, well, off. I have yellow undertones and I'm fairly lightskinned. I'm not the lightest mind you. And I find this a bit too yellow and a bit too dark. If this sunny weather keeps up I think it will suit me nicely very soon.
Coverage wise it's light to medium which I like. If I put too much foundation on of any brand I look like Mr. Cakeface! I'm sure you can build it up and get more coverage out of it. I have been using this without a primer, since mine is crap, and it lasted me a good 6 hours! It didn't dry me out, infact my skin felt healthy and smooth through the hours. It felt a bit sticky but I think that has more to do with my new moisturizer than the foundation.

On the back it says no transfer, no visible imperfections, no visible shine, no dry out and no mask effect. I haven't tried the no transfer bit and I do not agree with the no visible imperfections bit. But hey, you still look like you and not a wax doll so to me that is a plus. The rest of the no's I agree with.

I do not know about the 24 hour bit and honestly, you shouldn't wear foundation for that long anyway. Your skin needs to breathe no matter how good your foundation is.

All and all I like this foundation and I will keep on using it and let you guys know how I get on with it. I've been using it for a week and a half and so far it hasn't broken me out. I would however recommend you try the tester out on your  jawbone before buying it. If you are very fairskinned it might be too dark for you.

Completely forgot to mention that it has SPF 19 in it and the finish of it is the perfect in-between dewy and matte. It's silky somehow. And it is not glittery like my Rimmel one I dislike so much.

Pricepoint then? Bear in mind that all makeup here, no matter high or low end, cost considerably more compared to the trest of Europe and world. 169  SEK ( 19 Euro £15.93 & $26.44 ) Now that I look at the priceconvertions I realize that this might be the most I've ever paid for a foundation that wasn't high end.

Hope you liked this wordy review and found it somewhat helpful. Will you be trying it out?

Fructis in dryshampoo

I don't think anyone have missed that Garnier jumped on the wagon with dryshampoos a while back and released this green bottle. The green and the pink is typical Garniers Fructis line. It looks just like the shampoo, conditioner, hairmask and what not but in a metalcan with a nozzle. Then you would think it would smell as nice and work as well as the other products in the range? Which I for one really love!

But no. This was a huge disappointment from the very first impression. It came out very white, even whiter than Batiste, on dry hair. So I tried the trick I learned from my Batiste one and put it in wet hair. Still a white cast! It does give you volume I'll give it that. It smells awful! It smells nothing like the shampoo. You wish you could take your hair of, take a deep breath, spray your hair and then run out the room whilst it soaks into the oils. It goes straight in  your lungs and tastes even worse than it smells. It is describable! So does it do what it is supposed to then? No, not even that. My hair still looks iffy and in need of a wash. It irritates my scalp more than if I were to wash it every day. No, I will be picking up a Batiste on my way home instead of continue to use this. And where I buy my Batiste, it is a bit cheaper as well for the same amount.
So I'll be giving this a pass and advising you to do the same. It just isn't worth the money!

150 ml 42 SEK ( 4,75 Euro, £3.97 & $6.60 )

Have you tried it? What did you think?
Should I continue using a euro convertion and loose either gbp or usd? Which is the most helpful for you?

Head and shoulders

After the Response fiasco I needed a quick fix. My hair needed a super quick fix. I picked up an oldie but a goodie. And I got really sold on the sensitive bit.
It smells nice and soft. Like fresh rain and cucumbers. I've been using it for the past month and my hair is almost back to normal. My scalp is still itchy though. This shampoo has given me a ton of volume! Where on the bottle does it say volumizing?! I am so amazed! I love it! Now for the drawbacks. It feels like it leaves a buildup after a month of use. My hair doesn't look as clean the next day as it did when I first started using this. It isn't a major problem yet so I don't mind.
There isn't much else to say about it. It's a pretty straight up shampoo.
Price point is good too.

What tricks do you do when your hair is throwing a fit?

Bad Response

Everyone is raving about  argan oil and other oils in general. All about their benefits and stuff. I don't have dry hair since I'm a natural blonde, but I do have a dry scalp so maybe it could benefit from some of those benefits. I decided that "hey whatever, argan oil can't be that bad for my hair can it?".  So I got both the shampoo and conditioner.

First off, the packaging is typical response with the colibri and leaf imprint on the caps. I love that! Then we get into the product itself. Oh man does it smell heavily! It almost knocked me out. Response shampoos are a bit more heavily fragranced than others. But this one in particular is really heavily scented. And it doesn't go away when you rinse it out either. It hangs around all day! And halfway through the net day even if you just put water through it when you shower in the morning. It stinks! The formula feels oily and not in a good way either. The conditioner is slightly better formulated and not as heavily scented. I used the conditioner twice before I realized I didn't need it. The shampoo was so oily my hair didn't have the urge to knot itself up. I used the shampoo for maybe a week or two before my hair had a major hizzy fit! It got dry and itchy and started to get a lot of those dry white specks. It's disgusting! And I blame you Response! I had a really bad hair response! They weren't worth the try or the money. Even though I got them really cheep. They were newly launched here when I picked them up. I've seen a hair mask in the range as well and I will not be picking that up. I won't go anywhere near it!

Have you tried anything from the brand and how did you like it?
